In Star Shooters, the relationship between the player and the ball becomes intuitive. We prioritise high-repetition touches to ensure that ball control becomes second nature, allowing the child to eventually look up and enjoy the wider game.

• Learning to use all surfaces of the foot to maintain control in tight spaces.

• Mastering the ability to halt momentum and change direction instantly.

• Developing the habit of looking up to see their teammates and the "Galaxy" around them.

• Recruits become "Asteroid Miners," navigating obstacles to collect "stardust" points.

The Star Shooters phase is where technical soccer skills begin to take shape. While many clubs force kids into team positions too early, we focus on the individual's relationship with the ball. Our sessions revolve around high-repetition touches masked as high-imagination games. By navigating "debris fields" (cone drills), children train their brains to control the ball instinctively. Removing the pressure to "pass" or "defend" allows them to become masters of their own equipment. This technical competence is the true source of on-field confidence; when a child knows they can control the ball, they no longer fear the game.

The science of play:

• High-repetition ball work at age 5-6 creates "automaticity" in the brain, freeing up cognitive space for social decision-making in later years.

• Mastery of deceleration and balance significantly reduces the risk of sports-related injuries as the child grows.
